Okay, on a serious note: You have two 2' fish in a 6' tank. It's getting tight in there. Try to find a bigger tank if possible. Until then, try your own theory of setting up new decoration to disturb their territory or divide the tank e.g. with bugscreen.

Could give it a try but unlike cichlids I don't think Giant gouramis claim a "territory" I may be wrong though.
yeah my giant gourami and pacu fight too - mostly they get along great tho ,but ive been noticing my giant gouramis been getting nipped a little 
every once in a while Ill hear a big thunk and splash and sure enough the two are going at it - usually when the gourami gets fed up .Ill probably be separateing mine eventually too.

separete them till you get the cash or lucky enough to stummble on a free larger tank . it's better then decidin witch to sell or give away if they still fight after being placed in larger tank put one back in old tank . they will just have to be separated for life . most of my cichlid are all in there own tank's good luck 
i had to separate my pacu from my g gorami today ,woke up to find one of her bottom 'feeler fin thingys' (sorry dont know the proper word for that) was almost gone ! pacus can be such buttheads!
