They are primarily vegetarian. But if a fish is in there nerves and they’re aggressive I can see why it would do that.
Sorry, but you are incorrect. Pacu are omnivores and will eat just about every thing including non food items such as suction cups. In addition to having voracious appetites, they are extremely curious, inquisitive fish, who not having fingers and hands, have only their mouth and teeth to check out their world in the tank. I am convinced that they chew/destroy things not because they are hungry, but because they like to "investigate" things.
