I have Two Pacus, 1Tiger Oscar,1 GT.

Everything is okay. The tank is big for now,The problem is , the Pacus Fight With Each other!

Ive heard that They are mean to be kept in Schools or single.

What should i do?
Can i keep one?

how big is the tank?....
there are lots of reasons for aggression
whats your water readings?
cleaning schedule?
how long have they been in the tank together?

I have never heard of them going after each other,... ive heard pacu's picking on other fish if there is a huge size difference..

my pacu used to go after Oscars after it doubled in size compared to the oscars had to put in a different tank then.

How big is your tank? You will need a very large tank to properly house two pacu. Our 300 gallon tank is too small for our two pacu. You are going to need at least a 1,000 gallon tank. What are your water parameters? The smaller your tank, the harder it is to maintain good water parameters. Do you feed them live food? From all I've read, eating live food can make pacu more aggressive, and they start to view anything else in the tank as a potential meal.

I have one pacu that gets really frisky after eating. He likes to chase the other one around with his mouth open as if he is going to bite. He tries to make the other one stay in one corner of the tank. When he was in the small tank he is rescued in, he would try to herd the other seven fish into one corner of the tank. He would have made a great sheep dog :) I have never seen my pacu fight.

Water parameters i dunno :s
i maintain the temperature and cleanliness.
I change 20% of water twice a week.

Its a 75 gal tank, and all fishes are still kinda small.
All are of the same size(pacu around 4 inches including tail, Oscar and GT around 3.5 inches)

i dont feed them live food, i feed them usually with shrimps and pellets and my own home made fish food which has green in it(Carrot,Spinach and stuff with a bit of shrimp)

The Pacus are almost together for around 4 months now, and they NEVER fought until now..There are no much major injuries now.
Something which i just observed is that both have turned pale, From red bellied pacu, to white belly :/

And my pacu doesnt go behind the oscar , oscar sometime goes behind the pacus.
I love my pacus, and im gonna buy a 150 gal soon.

Another Doubt which i had about my pacus.

1.There is a small Hole kinda thing above the eyes Like in the following pic:

And

2. A small black scar which appeared these days like in the follwing pic:

Is it a normal sign?

My pacu have been in a 300 gallon tank for five years. The tank is too small. We change out 300 - 400 gallons of water a week to keep nitrates low. If you want to keep pacu successfully, you will have to be thinking of a much bigger than than 150 gallons.....more like this

150gal won't support two pacus....even 300gal can barely house a fullgrown pacu, let alone two. If I were you I would return the pacus to the store and save you some hassles in future. The fish stores should never sell pacus and oscars to the newbies in the first place.
