Hi everyone!!!

I have a common wolf fish that is about 1.5-2 inches in a 40 breeder. I have a cascade 1000 filter on it. My LFS has a red belly pacu that is about 1 inch and I want to know if they would get along together since they are both young. Yes I know they will put grow the tank, I have a 1500 gallon pond and a custom tank that measures: 8x4.5x4 any answers would br greatly appreciated!

The wolf fish would probably kill him, you could divide the tank and grow out the pacu, they grow very quickly and once he has some size on him he will be fine with the wolf fish but they can be unpredictable

I would agree with Bertie07 Bertie07 the Pacu will have to have a size advantage and still it may be risky.

Ok thank you, and I got the size wrong I called and they have another one that is maybe 2.5 inches, would this change anything you said? Would it be the same as deciding the tank till the pacu grows?

I personally would grow out the Pacu until it got nice and thick and 3 to 4 times the size of the Wolf because you have to keep in mind even small the Wolf can do a lot of damage to a thin Pacu if it attacked .
