Pacus care??help please

Could someone please let me know some different types of pacus i know of only two. Red belly pacu and albino pacu i would to know basic care like water parameters,tanks size, tank mates, there size etc. i could just google which i have but i think i can get a little more info from you guys please help much appreciated i want to get a couple for a project in the later future
p.s i like fish that get really big i plan on housing a couple of aros pacus gars and bottom dwellers catfish loaches etc just wanted to hear some opinions I want to get a 400g would this be ok?
 
They get huge! For that stick more like 1000 gal.

i couldnt even get away with a 400g even if i reduced the amount of fish i like pacus because they get huge i love aros and everything that i mentioned but i could probably due two pacus two aros two gars couple bottom dwellers prob. (one aro)

sorry bro theres no way you could keep them in there for to long, i've had pacus and its not a good fish for most people, like the above said you'll need a 1000+ gallon for a pacu and SOME tank mates
 
alrighty then thanks anyway guess ill be saving for a little longer i wouldn't want to buy irresponsibly and not be able to take care of it

awesome man, very responsable of you to ask before you buy :thumbsup: but with a 400g you could do a very nice tank with other fish
 
Yea idk ill see what i could do im pretty young and im not established as an adult yet but once i get my career started and everything all good.. ill get my hobby going but thanks again

Try some silver dollar species they are closely related to pacus. Google redhook silver dollars.

Widebar and thinbar silver dollars would also be good alternatives to a pacu.

The above posters are correct, a 400 gallon tank is way too small for a grown pacu. A grown pacu can hit 50 pounds and 3' long, if not bigger.

On the other had though, with a 400 gallon you could have one or more adult arowanas.
