pacus.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i went to petsmart today to buy a pacu for my tank(dont worry i have 2 pacus and an oscar in a 200 and ill be upgrading, they are all only juvenile) i asked to speak to the manager about this. he said it was just a choice that customers make. i asked them to at least warn the customer that they are buying a monster. he refused saying it would ruin business and that he doesnt mind selling pacus to little kids with a 10 gallon. p.s. they sold oscars there too

I agree with the petsmart thing, but to take them out of knowledgable fish stores is to make others suffer. there are all kinds of fish sold that grow the same size or larger. I've seen tiger shovelnose and redtailed cats over 4 feet long and clown knives over 2 and a half. I have 2 20 inch red bellied pacus and love them. They are going into an outdoor pond, in florida u can do that. Peacock bass reach 3 feet and some of the rays people own get humongous. You cant restrict everyone just because of some morons. I have very high energy, rambunctous weimeraners (dogs) and a lady approached me asking where she can get one because the color matched her cat. NO JOKE I wanted to kick her. That is why I do my part and loiter around the fish everytime I go and get something and I piss off the employees by standing and instructing people on certain fish like I work there. I have saved many fish from a unknowledgable person.

my friend owns a 29 gallon and hes going around the LFS the other day pointing out all these fish I have to constantly tell him "that would be a huge mistake." Among those he pointed out were a peacock bass, pacu, pike cichlid.
