padding to reduce pump vibration

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use a rubber doormat under my pumps. The thicker the better, like 1/2". I have a 1 1/2 hp and a 1/2hp pump and it makes a huge difference.

Here is a whole slew of vibration control stuff...

When I was working on the commercial fishing boats, vibration from all the engines and motors will make EVERYTHING rattle and buzz...enough to drive a person INSANE...we have used all kinds of mounts and isolators...

Gel soles worked excellent in lightweight applications...and they are waterproof too! ;)

Here is a place we purchased alot of Vibration gear from too...
hope this helps ya out...

My computer chair came with a piece of nice foam. I put both my high volume dual output pumps that are on my 55 on that piece of foam and you cant hear them. The bubbles themselves are actually louder. Its some kind of Serta(TM) foam.

Another method is cutting up an old rubber bath mat that has suction cups on the bottom. Two layers of that keeps my other pumps silent enough.

I keep mine on an old washcloth. Most air pumps tend to get quieter as time goes along, or so I've found. Regulating the amount of air will make the noise/vibration less too. The less the air, the quieter.
