Paddlefish and Beluga sturgeon comm tank Journal

Very nice, try getting some garlic guard by seachem & soak your floating/sinking pellets in that for a few mins before feeding. That should get them too come around
Just tried soaking the pellets in DIY garlic juice ( put a clove in a blender) . My fishes that usually take pellets spitted all of the garlic soaked pellets , this includes my other fishes like dorado , peacock basses and super red asian arowanas. Did i do something wrong with the garlic trick ? Or im not supposed to use DIY garlic juice and buy some seachem GG? Completely confused right now since all the information on the internet regarding garlic are all positive on increasing fish appetite. Any thoughts would be appreciated .

I would definitely grab some seachem GG, thats only product I've used personally & have converted stubborn bass onto frozen/pellets because of it.

Grabbed one right away and tried soaking some pellets in it
Day-1 experiment report:

Subject: The Bigger Paddlefish (15") and one of my Belugas(12"). both have always spit pellets after eating them.
Result: they still spit the pellets after hitting them, is to be expected since they already had a big meal the night before (it is 10 AM in the morning here).
Will have to try this again after few days or even more of starving them.

Sorry for the long delay

Here is some update, a lot has happened on my Paddlefish and Sturgeon keeping journey

I Found out the so-claimed belugas are not the true beluga when a friend in Korea sent me a vid of true belugas and it perfectly matches real belugas on the internet. I am confident to say there has been no Beluga imported to Indonesia so far.
I do not blame the importer for this as their supplier was the one that claimed the label. Turns out it was imported from China.

Not an expert in IDing sturgeons, but my best guess is the so called belugas in here are hybrids.
This is the vid from my Korean friend

However i am not that disappointed that i did not get belugas , and continue to grow them out with my best
I bought another 40 ish of the presumed Hybrid sturgeons, and 20ish of Acipenser Ruthenus.

Videos of the Current condition of the very first batch sturgeons

As for the paddles, it was a stupid mistake to mix them with Red Arowanas. They got bullied badly resulting in death ,will not give up and give it a try again next month when import shipment arrives. Here are some footage of the paddles before their death:

Biggest pair = 30” 15 months old
The smaller guys mostly are 5-6 months old averaging at 1.5 ft

long story short , china exporter labeled these sturgeons as beluga though after a year of research and study , spending hours daily observing them , with the help of a sturgeon farm owner in UK , it has been confirmed that these are all siberian sturgeon. Idk if the exporter simply mislabeled them or intentionally claim them as beluga for sales purpose but it is what is is. I am not disappointed and the siberians are as interesting to grow as the beluga. After roughly 15 months, a pair from the very first batch have reached 30” and i am hoping i could get them to reach the meter mark by this year. I find that their growth rate is already huge , i cant imagine how big a beluga can get in a year if siberian grows at this crazy rate already.

From my experience ,sturgeons are very unique . Each individuals are different , even some from the first batch are still 1.5 ft while the biggest are already 30”. And even though they are all same subspecies which is the siberian , they can have different growth rate , head shape, scutes and body coloration. Some love pellets, some would not take pellets at all and prefer shrimps and worms. I find them very unique and interesting.

As for the polyodons , they were growing over 50 cm, i realised my tank was not big enough and my pond was being used as 50 GATFs Growout which could be harmful for the polyodons so i decided to sell them to people that had better capability and facility to care for them at that time .
Unfortunately, it took 5 hours of transport to get them from my place to theirs , fish got into their tanks and after couple days they started dying.

i think moving bigger polyodons to a new environment is much harder than the babies. And bigger polys dont transport well i guess.

now i have a huge pond ready , and i will not give up, china source sending me baby polys soon and i will grow them to big monsters!
