Yeah, I think sturgeon have a TON more personality than paddlefish, but I have worked with sturgeon a lot more. I've seen sturgeon that will come to be petted, roll over when you rub their bellies, and seem to get very visibly excited to have human attention. paddle fish down here in indiana by the markland damn were actually caught and they extracted the eggs some kind of redneck caviar as i understand you can't keep one i can't keep one unless you have a pond or something and i doubt unless it is spring fed you will be able to do to lack of oxygen and movement in the water

Paddlefish can be kept at least through their first few years in an aquarium as long as you keep the water in the low 70's and keep the tank as free from obstruction as possible. Lots of aeration and a good bio filter is also necessary. Either a pond or early death is their future in captivity.

Even in huge tanks the fish will bump their snouts into the glass. Most captive paddlefish I have seen have ugly white contusions all along the edges of the paddle. As said, not a suitable fish for the home aquarium.
Just a thought- WASCO has fiberglass paddlefish replicas. Get a good fish taxidermist to paint one for you and you've got a paddlefish in your home for as long as you want it, for far less than the cost of a multi-thousand-dollar tank.
