paecock vrs electric blue

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Some Peacocks are as docile as goldfish and some (depending on which kind it is) are very mean and can hold their own quite well. There's a good chance that Your Electric Blue may gather himself and come back with both guns blazing until it's finally figured out who is #1 in your tank. Be ready for some possible fireworks.

My dominant male, otter point jake peacock, always acts aggressive towards my ahli. No nipping, just a lot of chasing, to show dominance, yet the ahli has a good 2" on the peacock.

the tank is prolly not big enough 1 should have have half the tank and the other the other half.....get like 5 femals BIG robust females so they can vent on or your ahli will get sick and maybe die if not seperated females may cause more aggression if the tank isnt big enough i suggest maybe get the biggest possible "target fish" like a pleco or something like a jack that can hold their own and be not too agressive i had an ahli beat up on a 7 inch jack that was 8 years old and he ripped his eye up and it never got better so maybe try getting a labido or something really aggressive

Aulonocara, or Peacocks :), are not just that simple. You have Jacobfreibergi, Stuartgranti families and a lot of sp. in between. Jacobfreibergi are from the start some of the more "rowdy" Aulonocaras, but that doesn't mean they are overly aggressive. Give the necessary space, tank mates and choice of mates any fish should be manageable.
