i have a 65 gal thats not painted on the back or has a back ground. im not sure of the exact measurements but its a tall(ish) tank can i paint it now that the fish is in it? is there a website where i can find odd shaped backgrounds?
a web site with lots of different backgrounds?

Ummm Yes you can paint it...Looks way cleaner than backgrounds...

If you mean can you paint the outside of the tank, then yes. Why wouldn't you be able to? That's what I do to all my tanks before I set them up. Get creative and use different colors or designs.

Black paint looks the best to me. There are some really high dollar backgrounds you can buy that do look great but.. $5 for a can of paint vs. $150 for an excellent background.

black spray paint, you wont regret it. backgrounds look like crap after a while. it will make a mess inbetween the glass

Changing a BG is a lot easier than stripping and repainting.

The residue between the glass and BG would be equally as undertaking to get at and remove as paint...Why would you need to strip and re paint? Should last forever if done correctly...

I meant if you ever got tired of the painted background it is easier to change a printed one. ;)

no need to change it, i would think! black is the most universal of all backgrounds and looks great no matter what your setup. saltwater, freshwater, bare tank, planted, etc etc. it works great for all!
