Painting your rifle, is a matter of choice, really. Personally, I would not do it. If you are trying to camouflage your weapon, break up the outline of your weapon. Nothing in nature, is perfectly straight or perfectly round. Also, you want to avoid exposing things which will reflect, shine, or cause glare from your weapon.

Dont paint it jose. When i was in the military i had a bunch of friends that were scout snipers and they didnt even paint there rifles. They made guilly suits fro them and you can paint those and put what ever on them for texture. It seemed tow work pretty good.

Thanks for the advice folks! Decided to leave the AR15 alone :) But last night I did paint my little hunting rifle. What do you guys think? I think it came out pretty cool. Only time will tell how the finish holds up. Used two colors, tan base and olive stenciling. Didn't want to paint the barrel since I knew that would scratch up pretty quick. Kinda defeats the purpose since it's shiny stainless, but oh well!

paint parts of it. i have my grips, rail covers, mags and stuff all painted tan with a snake skin pattern of brown over top it. id have trouble covering up your lower

I say yes, but instead of doing pine/straw paint, you should sponge paint it.

I think they compliment each other nicely :)

Hell no!! Only paint turkey guns IMHO. bolts get a camo cover. Id never paint my wood. That sounds dirty.
