Saskatchewan summers are usually warm and dry. High temperatures range from 15 C (60 F) in May to the mid-30s C (90-95 F) in July and August. We average the most sunshine of any Canadian province

Sounds like a great time of the year to do outdoors activities.

Winters here are pretty harsh (35 below zero) but the summers are beutifull . We are expecting 37 Degrees C ( 98.6 degrees F ) tommorrow. As for an endless selection of free driftwood I live at a lake in a beutiful valley surrounded by farmland. Not much for trees.

Howdy,

Lakes are not good for harvesting driftwood anyhow since it's stagnant water. Check out the river(s)/creek(s) that flow into it. Maybe they bring some branches with them from other regions. Also, you don't even need big trees. Willows or similar bushes also make good driftwood

If you're not into that, though, I think Oddball's advice are the way to go.
