Painting back black

I appreciate all of the replies guys.

I may be doing the photographic backgrounds wrong, but I'm done trying. I don't want to have to empty and move this 180 tank if I don't get it right again (its heavy).

I like the idea of taping the back after painting it. Thanks again.
 
I used black contact paper for mine. have to take your time to keep bubbles out but it looks great and is pretty thick so it does not scratch. :headbang2
 
For those who have seen all of my tanks...that is black spray paint.

It is very hard to scratch off...I did a lot of coats.

Apply the first coat very very very lightly...let it dry. This light coat provides the next coat something to grip to.

The finish is great...just do as many coats as necessary.

Tint is another great idea..I am getting my 600 tinted soon. So I will be able to show how that turned out shortly.

If you're trying to get a black background in your pictures it's easier to do with lighting and camera settings IMO. I've got a tank with no background that I get blacked out pictures with.
A 180 is deep enough that it shouldnt be a problem:)
