Just a bit nuts? lol

I got some conflicting info on the paint to use and best application. Here are some pics of what I did if it helps.

1) Get paint, I used Krylon H2O. (smooth looking & latex)
2) Drain/turn tank then tape it off.
3) Put a reptile lamp w/ regular household bulb facing the painting area. This helps show low/uneven areas very easily.
4) Multiple thin layers to avoid drips. I did around 4 or 5.
5) Don't forget to turn the tank back around!!!! ;)

The paint has had no bad affects, it's is a bristlenose pleco growout on it's third batch of babies. Humping fish = happy fish!

That's all you covered too? i was told if you spray inside you get paint particles everywhere... recommended covering EVERYTHING...

so i just went will acrylic. probably go spray next time.

Already painted my 90 gallon with the acrylic, took all day after about 5-6 coats looks real good. just got to be careful not to scratch it. :headbang2

If it where not 20 degrees outside I would have done it there. Pics below are of the side taping.

No fish are in any tanks in the room. If your not "over excited", you can do it without getting particles everywhere (white tape/black paint doesn't lie)...... :grinyes:
