Your setup looks awesome man As Dev C mentioned they don't come out a lot they often hide I have had Gachua for over a year now and have had a full grown adult female and than 5 juvies which grew out. All along they are awesome fish especially during feeding mine beg at the front pane of the tank lol. I really like the other guys setup two, but your most recent setup pic is wicked perfect for Gachua. here s a pic of mine :) sorry for the crappy pic and also notice you cant see them lol there is 3 in there lol

@Jayp, thanks for the comments! your tank looks awesome, i like the black sand and that driftwood! My gachua are extremely active at night when the tank light is off but the room lights are on, im hoping they will become more comfortable and less shy as time goes by!

Thanks Man. I had a full gr4own female I grew out, she was active with lights on or off but only if no one was around the tank lol. She always hid just what they do I guess but if I sat back and watched she would be out all the time :) Fun to watch them I have 3 left now and they do the same when no one is around :)

Hey guys, a bit of a sad update...:(

Although fully covered by a lid it seems that my one gachua managed to pinpoint the tiny circular hole that comes standard on any black tank plastic hood. I came home to find him crawling around the room, Im not 100% sure how long it as out the tank but i immediately put it in a clean quarantine tank. After a few hours the usual (from what ive read), milky layer formed on its eyes and parts of the body. Over the next few days it cleared and i became hopeful. Yesterday i woke up and found him covered completely in the milky layer and unfortunately dead. Needless to say i've now covered the only available hole with a small net like patch to prevent this in the future. Still sucks tho...

The remaining gachua is still completely healthy but seems to have completely lost interest in food? I tried starving it and feeding it again but with no luck. Do you think it could be because the other fish is now gone? They were beginning to show signs of pairing and im not sure if that is playing a role? Maybe its mourning haha?

Any advice is appreciated
Thanks
