Pair of Festae in a 4x2x2

i was wondering if you can successfully keep a pair of Festae in a 4x2x2 i know that festae kill each other a fair amount (well thats what i heard) i was going to do them in a 5x2x2 but i think it will take about 5 years for the male to reach 15". i was going to divide the tank and cut a hole in the divider so that the female can fit through but is it the male who kills the female or the female who kills the male usually????

How many other tanks do you have? Is there room for either the male or female to go somewhere if the going gets rough? I don't see why you would even have a second thought if you have multiple tanks....
 
i reckon you would be able to get away with it for a fair while, all you would have to watch is (as you said) the male bashin the female.
 
yeh ok thanks. spizz baring in mind im 14 lol i have 2 tanks atm my 100G with the Jags in and a 30G growing out my 6 F1 festae looking for a pair to put in a larger tank when they get a bit bigger.

Ah....I guess I just assumed you had a bunch of tanks. Does your dad have tanks that you can't mess with? I don't know why I thought you had a bunch...Well in that case...I don't think a 4x2x2 is good for life for adults. Or breeding size. Divided they would be in 2x2x2 just seems a bit stuffed to me. It is enough water though. IMPO the dim's just are not good for that. A 6'x18"x anything, would do you way better I think....This is all MPO of course :)
 
yeh, okay by the way it wouldnt be for life but i doubt they will reach 14" with in the next few years anyway there 2-3" atm sooo alot of growing to do. also my dad's tanks are his i cant put my fish in them lol.
 
That must be why I was confused... It wooooould work, for I'm gonna say 1.5-2 years at their sizes..Rt's grow pretty slow....
 
yeh what im gunna do is get a pair from the 6 sell the other 4 get the pair a 55 for 6 months-year until they get maybe 7-8" then get 120 for a while before the 150
