Those are some nice orinos. Did you do anything different to get them to lay eggs or it kind of just happened on its own. Nice bright pair!

Had 4 fish in the same tank" lucky it turned out 2 pairs" I split the pairs into 2 tanks" I started doing slight lower temp water changes" and just kept my water good and fresh"
I use just R/O water bufferd with re-mineralizer"

Nice! I recently switched over to R/O water. I'm thinking about setting up a 24hr drip system again. The R/o water really makes them glow

yes mate I went to chaps house few years back who bred stingrays and had bass" his tanks was drip system" thort about it myself but! I use 100 R/O and need to buffer! how do you get stable system when drip feeding from r/o unit

ph of R/O is around 6" 30 ppm on pen! buffer upto around 7.2 ph but still very soft

My R/O water is at 6.3-6.4 which is perfectly fine. I've kept cichla in ph that was in the low 5s and they glowed bright and loved it. Many years back, I used to match the ph to the collection point of my cichla. You can do a search and you will find our old discussions. Cichla love soft water but clearly what ever your doing is working great for you so I wouldn't change anything.
