Funny how quickly opinions & perspectives change. Comment below was from October........
Seems necessity/want breeds innovation.

Once again, these are opinions NOT facts. if these were facts then there would be absolutely no need or value in a forum of this kind.

I'm not worried on tank size for life. It's just that the current owner does not want to give away his prized pair to someone unknown. And i at the current moment only have a 120 as the largest tank. It's for sure that they'll get an upgrade when they reach large sizes but i know I have time as their growth from the current size will be slow. I was just concerned if they would kill or harm each other. And if it's okay to leave in the fry with the pair as I have no intention of raising and selling fry.
And yes thanks for the suggestions. ✌

The growth from their current size won't be slow, if properly cared for. I've seen this a thousand times before, someone asks a question that google could answer, then as soon as 1 or two people give a nod of approval they do exactly what they had planned all along. No matter how many experienced folks suggest against. Good luck, but next time you decide to get up on that soap box think back to this thread. You and your pals are no different.

Not doing it. I have no intentions of raising and selling fry, so why not let off the pair to someone who is more interested in business. I told my friend that I'm not taking the pair .

If they are same size there is the chance the male is younger. Synspillian males grow big and at that size take off with high water quality and good food variety. If the pair is totally compatible (VERY seldom are) than a 120 could work long term if male starts growing faster than female and you have hiding spots she can fit but he doesn't. Remember fenistatus are sometimes more mean than red heads so she might be the cause for problems complicating issues. In conclusion, if everything works out perfectly you'll be fine so realize it most probably won't based on odds and double the tank size, add some fast dithers and keep an eye on them.

In addition, vieja are tall body fish with relatively small mouths. Think about a pike or anphilophis or gupote, etc...their mouth is much bigger and made to inhale fish. The vieja can be kept with much larger range of dithers because can't swallow as many. A 200gal tank with hiding spots can have vieja shared with: loiselle, hemichromis elongatus, mbuna, exadon, neetroplus, mid size Pike and whatever is able to defend a small cave. Think outside the silver dollar/bala shark box
