IN FISH PARADISE
hi guys ..

i wanna put a group of angels ( already big and ready to breed * mature * ) together in order to get a pair off ready to spawn ..

can this happen ?? and how long it ll take ? i mean can a pair get off while they are big ..

do u know what i mean ?!!

It's possible but it'll take some time before two pair off. Just need to be patient.

that period can goes to more than 2 month ???

thanks for replay >>

Well, it could be who knows but like I said, you need to be patient. It's their choice.

ok then if i got a group of little angels they ll pair off at age what ?? ..

i am thinking to do both get a group of big one ( but from different places ) and a group of smaller ones but first i wanna know when they ll be ready to pair off and breed

i heared at about the 6 month

and can i put for example a male from a high breed with another normal females .. like i ll put a male like the pic down with 4 normal females ?? he might pick one of them ??? as i was thinking in hybrid angels

so ..

Your last paragraph fetches a question to mind. Do you know which is a male or a female? The only accurate way is by venting, nothing else. Humps and fin shapes are not accurate. In my experience, they started pairing off at 6-7 months of age. Another question, do you know how old your angels exactly are?

i can't know how old my angels are .. i bought a new group i think they ll not exceed 8 month by any way ..

but i have a big male he is in my tank for a big while know ... they were pair but his female dead in a misty ways :D

i have been told that they can be known by the lower fin angel with the body and i red that a lot in net ..

then i ll put that cool angel fish in the pic up in a 150 L tank with another group of normal angels ( see i did not mention any word of male or female :D ) then can it got paired with normal angels ??

and can i put my big angel ( i am very sure that he is male ) with those group to get paired ???!

Thanks Lupin .. u r sooooooooooooooo great really ..

That's a good close guess. 7-8 months would be about right assuming all your angels are 2.5-3.5 inches but growth rate is dependent on the conditions provided although this is often the norm.

but i have a big male he is in my tank for a big while know ... they were pair but his female dead in a misty ways :D
Misty?

Fin shape is inaccurate. I have not noticed much difference between the two sexes except the vents which is why for perfect accuracy, go for venting rather than assume the body differences.

then i ll put that cool angel fish in the pic up in a 150 L tank with another group of normal angels ( see i did not mention any word of male or female :D ) then can it got paired with normal angels ??
What do you mean "normal"? Yes, they will choose their partners but do note two females will also pair off.;)

and can i put my big angel ( i am very sure that he is male ) with those group to get paired ???!
Depends. Angels are cichlids and therefore have unpredictable personalities so I recommend a close watch for possible aggressions and be ready for a backup tank in case aggression erupts.

I think that is a great way to pair off angels..by putting all your mature large angels together.. but then be prepared to move the rest out since any eggs will be eaten either by the parents{usually out of frustration} or the others or you will need to remove the pair.. in doing this it sometimes takes longer for them to breed again since they need to acclimate again to the new tank..
It is Very hard if not impossible to sex angels prior to them spawning. You can see pretty much who is pairing off by the two who appear to always stick together. Males are generally larger but many times are not... angels will pick their mate and others will be pushed and chased away. The pair will start cleaning an area and you will know then you have a pair and that is when i take the others out... or remove the pair to another tank...which i call the breeding tank...
Once the pair spawn and lay their eggs , remove the parents , add a fungus remover for the eggs and leave the eggs right where they are. There are some great parents who will raise their young with no problems... but they are few and far between.. if you want to let them try the first couple of times to do it on there own.. be prepared that they will most likely eat the eggs.. i had one pair that did it all though...so i was glad i let them try... and the babies you yeild from those kind of parents are healthier and grow better..so it is worth the time to see if they can accomplish that.. and to get a breeding pair that can raise their own is a great asset.. and worth quite a bit in monetary value.. i treasure a pair of great parents like that...

Mysterious ways .. :D sorry for the wrong spell

normal angels here in my country is the marble ones or the while one ( pearl scale .. ) and black .. ( local breed ) but another types cam in as imported

now i have a group together in the 150 L and till now they live in a cool school :D

put why do 2 females pair off ??!!

Hi liz ,

how r u :D

yeah i ll try to see if it worth then no need to get a small group and wait extra 6 month to get a pair .. then i ll keep an angel tank that i ll put in any cool one i like in LFS .. to pair off ..

and i ll try for the first time to let them care for their offspring .. but the problem is that i do not want w pair that is get used on eating eggs .. :( that ll be a waste time pair ..

or may be i ll get a cool parents that care alot for their offspring .. that ll be so cool

and i am willing to get a pair of sunburst to get mixed :D
