pairing big angels ?!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no they started dieing before the plants .. i am thinking the reason may be that the angel it self was not in a good health ??!

specially that i got a group of 8 - each 4 from a different store .. so may be there were 4 sick angels .. or i don't know they are clean and can 't find a reason for death ..

i just got the plants yesterday while the angels been there for more than a week ..

okay so continue on... sometimes they are sick...that could happen to anyone... just hope the healthy ones stay healthy... keep us posted...

ok Liz .. thanks so much i ll keep the post updated ..

i am so sorry to hear that... you either have a disease running through them...angels are afflicted with this and it it contageous... mainly just affects angels.. or something else is wrong.. but give lupin a heads up and maybe he can help answer your question..did you have any signs of bloat ......
Some of my small angel fish are developing a bloated abdomen. They usually die not too long after this. What is causing it?

Most likely, the kidneys have failed and the fish is absorbing water without being able to eliminate it. Therefore, they bloat. Obviously, failing organs are not a good sign and the angel fish will usually die no matter what you do. Occasionally, some recover, but may have a damaged swimbladder and become "bellysliders" or they may become severely stunted. Prevention is the key to avoiding this condition. The organs are probably being destroyed by a bacterial infection. These infections are usually the result of feeding too much or feeding food that is starting to go bad. Artemia that is not newly hatched (within a few hours) is a prime source of such bacteria.

I find it very unusual that it is always the females that are affected. Are you sure the male doesn't bully them? That would have been my suspicion. Glazed eyes happen when they die. What are your water parameters right now? Temperature? I've lost track of things since my last reply here.

well .. i opened her belly now it was full of eggs ( :(:(:(:(:(:(:( ) nth were wrong no bloat ..

the water temp is 26 C may be it dropped 1 or 2 degrees over 3 days ..

i know the kidney fail cus i used to breed fighter and it is a very common disease to the fighter caused by blood worms feeding ( as i heard )

but i do not over feed at all and i feed them guppy fry cus i breed guppy and have a lot of fry ..

i do not know what to do .. but i am thinking in preparing a new tank with new water and leave it for 3 or 4 days then start move all the angels in there with out plants with out any thing ..

or what ?

may be i ll make the last try and watch them for more couple of days to see what ll go on ..
