I have two small Festae, they tolerate each other well no fighting. But their little, so I don't know if I'd call them a pair. I would like to get a pair down the road my question is. Should I add 2 or 3 more little festae to the tank in hopes to get a pair? Or just hope these two hit it off? My LFS has about 4 little ones just about the right size. So if I needed to I could snag a few. Thoughts?IMG_20160220_093556359.jpg

As long as there all about the same size then I would add the four from your lfs, chance of getting a pair from two juveniles is slim

Their all about the size of the smaller one. My bigger one is just a tad bit bigger then the others but not by much.

Absolutely add more if you want a pair to form. I started with 4 small ones and now I have 4 medium sized males, no females whatsoever even with 4 to start. I'd go with 6 total and let a natural pair form from the group. Once they've paired off, then you can remove the others so they don't get taken out by the pair.

Adding 2 to 4 more around the same size is the best way to try and get a pair.

Absolutely add a few more. I got my pair at 5-7 inches Male being the large one. they had never met b4 and it took me 6 months to get spawn. U have a headstart with juvies it makes it 10x easier!

Hmm darn, so even though I'm fairly certain I have a male and a female. And they get along fine. They probably won't bond? And when they get bigger they will just go at each other? I could order a bunch of 1inch F1's from Florida cichlids direct. But then they would be about half the size of the ones I have now. Or I could grab the ones at my LFS but those will be more expensive and of unknown origin. But still they are good looking enough for little festae

Yeah, that's why I got the two little ones to begin with. Apperently my ignorance scrwwed me up. I should have gotten like six at one time lol.
