What is the best way to pair two fish from seperate species for example jag x dovi best off in solo tank or start of small with lots of fish

best way is to grow out a bunch of each together then weed out males from females i.e male jags with female dovi and male dovi with female jags may take a little longer but its almost full proof. You could also just divide a male and female from each untill they take to each other

I have a male dovi with several poss female parachomris species will see how it goes
