Palmas getting bullied

I get a palmas the other day and it's been doing great but I've noticed that my firemouth has been picking with it. I've tried everything added more drift wood and hiding caves but the firemouth just takes over everything. What can I do to divert the aggression away from the poly?

firemouth needs the boot. I have all my bichirs with cichlids. no problems really at all. only for new incoming bichir, but thats about it.

Id transfer the FM to another tank, or sell it. Adding more caves may have actually done the oppositte of what you wanted, the FM is probably trying to claim the new caves and the bichir doesnt want to fight back, probably because its small?

It's the regular palmas not the polli palmas. It's about 3.5"

Id transfer the FM to another tank, or sell it. Adding more caves may have actually done the oppositte of what you wanted, the FM is probably trying to claim the new caves and the bichir doesnt want to fight back, probably because its small?

It actually does fight back to a point but he only defends himself. I can't move the fm it's tank is going to be a saltwater tank for my son.

Both are new I got the birchirs two days after I got the fm.

Could it be that they are pretty much alone in a 75? The only other fish beside the palmas n fm is a bn pleco and it hides in the driftwood.
