Yeah so TFD officially sucks....I ordered three fish from them, which he was one of them, and I got a shortnose gar with some sort of disease(he died), the ugliest delhezi bichir Ive seen, and him....hes probably a senegal.

yeah thats a senegal no questions asked, look at the difference in head shape of the one you posted a random picture of and then the picture of the actual fish you bought, i'd be furious with a vendor if i got those results that you did =\

Yeah that's a Senegal TFD rarely has good polypterus and never have them labeled right I've learned if there is no sub-species its a Senegal an NC moke look nothing like Retro...Sorry you had to get jipped

So question. I have a juvie poly palmas but my question is is it normal for him to hang around the top of the tank my other hides down low he seems to really like the top should I be alarmes

Wouldn’t be alarmed about it. Watch for trapped air.

If he is swimming normally I wouldn't be worried mine sometimes hang out up top

What other fish are in the tank ? Does the Palmas have any damaged fins ?
