Actually, I am not putting the staghorn fern in because it turned out to be too large to go through the opening. I wasn't worrying about the plants though, because I got them at a local nursery that has an entire section dedicated to vivariums. Plus, the only new ones are the staghorn and the flamingo flower. All the others have been growing in my smaller tanks or used to until they got too big. I don't fertilize or apply pesticide to my plants, that's what waterchanges, rubbing alcohol, and tweezers are for. As for the lizards, humidity is 70% with the lid on, and I would only have 2 frogs. American greens don't eat house geckos or anoles, I've kept them together before. Plus they don't get large enough. The same applies to the greys. By the way, I couldn't wait. I added water yesterday and the seal has held very nicely! So this morning I threw all the aquatic plants in. I'll try to get pics tonight, but no promises. There's no soil yet either (in both the water or land portion). By the way, what should I use as a substrate in the water portion? Pea Gravel? Sand?
Its not you, its the plant vivariums that give quemicals to plants on a rutine basis to achieve optimal growth and complete pest control and because thouse plants are not designed for human consumpsion, only for decoration, the products used tend to be nastier then the ones used to grow greens. But yea if you got them at a specialized seller then they should be ok but for safety make shure.

I finished planting the tank. It is spectacular! I just need to get a rock as an exit for the water area and some pea gravel for the bottom (I don't want to clog my pump). My cryptocoryne is planted in a pot that will be hidden by the rock. Java fern is just floating around.

Well I couldn't wait anymore. The green tree frog is in the tank and looks very good. I also added my one red zebra mbuna that was in a 10 gallon. He doesn't seem to bother the plants because there are so many of them in the water. In fact he uses the spot between the cryptocoryne and a pothos leaf as a shelter.

I'll try to get some tonight, but when I go get crickets in about an hour I may casually lead my dad over to the green tree frog tank. ;)

Well, no other frog today, but I did get the rock for the waterfall. I'm waiting for the pics to load as we speak. Water's a little cloudy. I just did a water change because the frog dragged so much dirt into it. I put live moss over the entire tank bottom which immediately solved the problem.
