Hey guys, for those of you that haven't seen my uaru f log check out the last few posts here ----- http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/uaru-f-log.660721/page-8

My smallest panda is having a terrible time with Ich and now seems to be developing a fungal or bacterial infection. I've been treating the ich with seachem paragaurd, metroplex, and recently aquarium salt but none of the fish are responding to it and the little guy is only getting worse. Any help would be appreciated.

Tank specs:

75 gallon filtered with 2 Penn Plax cascade 1500's
Temp 87
Ph 6.8
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5
Kh 2
Gh 4
Feeding spirulina as a staple, romaine, nls pellets, blood worms, and occasionally shrimp. They are getting a mix of 90% ro and 10% tap during water changes. Changes are 60% every three days.

I think you need to try to get temp up to 94ish. Might need a new heater or two but heat and salt is great for ich. Secondary infection, sounds fungus? I'll have to look at the pic when I'm at a computer.

Turning up temp now. Also adding an additional air stone just in case. All of my heaters max out at 92 so I guess I'll shoot for that.

I think that's the upper limit on ichs ability to reproduce. Should at least slow it down.

I am a bit concerned about what that high temp could do to the fish over time. Do you think the green phantom pleco can withstand that temp? Hopefully this helps quickly.

Panda should be fine with the temps, I assume the pleco would be okay but I know little about them.

Wow, that fish is severely affected. May want to move to hospital tank if you do have a fully cycled tank around as your other fish arent nearly as affected. Ich can actually be killed with temps as low as 84F, I usually shoot for 88F. You may have good results using higher temps as suggested for short intervals. A strong saltwater dip in addition to dosing tank can be very helpful when treating severe ich infestations.

Well my temp maxed out at 90 overnight. Not going to get any higher. I don't have another cycled tank up right now unfortunately. This one and the rest are going to have to just push through in their 75. The pandas do seem to be a bit stressed this morning, but otherwise fine.

Use a 30 min bath of 1 teaspoon of malachite green and half a packet of API triple sulfa in a five gallon bucket of tank water. Do this daily for a week to ten days. Keep the temp up in the tank and use salt in the main tank with daily 50% water changes.

Keep us posted.
