Has anyone kept these, i'd love to attempt to breed them but have yet to see any in the UK as i here they suffer from mayjor amonia burns being transported over, are they a new species or are they Hybrids of some sort as its only recent ive heared and seen pictures of them, awsome lookin fish tho !!! :D

There are a number of members here on MFK who have kept Uaru Fernandezyepezi. They can be very spendy to get your hands on. They do best in groups and can be vulerable to HITH if water perameters are not pristine. They are not a hybrid in any way, the originate from The Orinoco & Atabapo rivers in SA. They do best in soft acidic water (PH 5.0-6.0) and warm, 80-85 degrees.

These are stunning cichlids and I really want to do a large tank for them myself one day. :naughty:
