Pangasius fillet

Hi guys,

Was visiting my local grocery and found some large pangasius catfish fillets on the frozen section. Compared to tilapia, they seem a bit cheaper.
Has anyone tried feeding these to their poly's?

I haven't fed them to my fish yet, but have considered it. They always end up being fed to my family.

I fed them to my bichirs.. and other fishes.. Tried it once..
But leave a film of oil on the water surface..
Did not feed them that ever again..

They taste very good. Coat in breadcrumbs and Montreal Steak Spice.
BlackCarpets, most fish will leave an oily residue. Tilapia does, as do the smelts that I feed. It will break down through natural processes.

Did you rinse them off a few times before putting them in the tank?

ditto on the tilapia lol. I guess it's worth a try then.

i have seemed to notice a little more oil in my tank when i use a catfish fillet

Attempted, my bichirs much prefer shrimp which is a pity considering how much cheaper pangasius fillet are.

Hi guys,

After two feeding sessions, most of my bichirs have eaten the chunks. The endli's seem to like them a lot but not with my ornates. This won't be much of a staple anyway,
just to help make their diet a bit more diversified. Feeding is 4-5x a week, mostly with chicken intestines, gizzards, house lizards (there seem to be a lot around here) and
feeder fish from a nearby river.

Hopefully this little experiment will work out with the minions lol.
