I think that's called having enough land to dig a lake...........or just buying somewhere with a lake to start with! I remeber seeing on Discovery a couple of Thai fish farmers with long rectangular 'ponds' and occasionally there'd be the odd mekong giant in them with all the other fish.

Unfortunatly there's more money in raising these fish for food there than for breeding and releasing them back into the wild.

Those long rectangular ponds are actually fishing parks. Not only is there an odd mekong giant in them, there are A LOT of mekong giants in them. Sometimes the farmers who run the fishing parks get them to breed also. Either that or they somehow hybridize with the ID shark. Ive seen some really weird Pangasius that I cant exactly point my finger at.

My mom's told me stories of how she's actually seen a 2-meter long Walking catfish (Clarias species). I dont doubt her, since I've caught a 1-meter long walking cat before myself on rod and reel.

Stop it, you'll give me ideas of crossing my Clarius with my Pangasius!

A Thai fishing holiday sounds like an idea for a fishing holiday soon then.

I've had similar thoughts............then also realised i'd have to house and feed them all! I did read that the rtcxtsn hybrid only has a 1 in 1000 chance of having a succesfully fertilized egg when using the rtc and tsn parents and that chance gets worse the further apart the species are. So maybe housing them all wouldn't be an issue. I've always fancied an rtcxjurense or rtcxtigrinus

yeah we are. Oh and speaking of hybrids. The other day I witnessed with my own eyes a RTC x Pangasius hybrid. It was at an aquarium here.

there is someone in the US that has a Rtcxparoon.

A crazycross would be a WelsxFilamentosum or WelsxB. Yarelli............that would be a crazy beast!!!

I'm finding rtc x paroon hard to picture in my head. How would that behave anyway? Mid level cruiser or bottom dweller?

STOP TEMPTING ME WITH CRAZY HYBRIDS! Was after a Dourada but can't find any over here, don't want to resort to a wels but the Albino ones look nice......... Hmmmmmmmmmmm, red tailed albino wels!

Is there any good biologists in the house?
