Hi,
have anybody this catfish? How big is your tank for them? How long do you keep them?
Is it true, that they couldnt stop growing and if they dont have enough space for swimming, they will die??
Is it possible, that they will abort to specific size?
Thanks

I am guessing that you went to a large chain pet store and they told you that this fish gets very big but you can still put it into a small tank as it will only grow to it's tank size... this is not true not true at all... yes it could stunt the fish's growth and lead to his demise if it is way too small... I do not know a whole lot about this catfish I do know that it gets extremely large and would not keep it unless you could maybe keep it in a very large pond... maybe I am wrong so if anybody has kept these maybe they might have some better info just does not seem like a good idea...

Thanks for infos.
I read about this cats.If they dont have enought space, they will die.But I wonder,if here is someone, who keep this fish and how long time?

Pangasius Sanitwongsei is also knwon as the paroon shark. They are very active swimmers that need a LOT of swimming space. They are very prone to ick so be careful on the temperature drops. They are usally available in petshop at around 1.5"~4" but wll grow very fast. They can attain several feet in length but the biggest I have seen in a home aquarium is about 30-36" One of our members Kido has one in his pond. You can view it here:

They are very cool fish. One of my personal favorites. They have a big appetite and won't hesitate to swallow a tank mate that will fit in its mouth. They do better in a school rather than just an dividual fish.

Hope that info helps.

here is more info on them:

Thank you!
I was decided to buy one to my 600litres aquarium, but I rather buy P.Hypopthalmus.They can live in aquarium for many years.
