OMG What a scare. One of my columbian sharks decided to jump out of the tank. :WHOA: My 55 g tank that he was in was on the bottome shelf and we had to empty it really fast and moved the other fish so that we could get the tank out as he wedged himself between the tank and the back wall. 45 mins later the tank is out and he was picked up and put in a temporary tub, still alive and moving around in the tub now. Tank is now set up and waiting for the water to clear some from the sand before we can put the shark Bruce back in the tank with the Chum, Anchor, Pitrie, Goulash and Feathers.:nilly:
 
bruce the columbian is about 6 inches long and he shares the tank with chum a 5 inch columbian, anchor is the 4 inch albino RTC and I put the 6 inch parrot in there with him as well as the angel and the little pleco.

Bruce is going to die soon if he isn't moved to brackish waters. Your albino rtc? Pics please, and you should move him to his own indoor pond now. If it is truly an albino, it is worth a lot more of your time and effort than keeping it in a 55 gallon.
 
??? Bruce's water is slightly saltier than any other of our tanks. Our local LFS has columbians in a fresh water tank and they are approx 4 to 5 years old. From everything I have read and talking with our local LFS I have until they are a couple of years old(teens) before I have to start changing them over to full brackish. So far it looks like the darn blood parrot was the main stress in the tank as I caught him chasing the others so I pulled him out and put him in a small tank for the night and will move him into a 10 gallon tommorrow. Have to either get a bigger tank or build one for the RTC but until then (probably summer) anchor will be in the 55 gallon with bruce and chum.
 
Im glad you found him, that's great and he is still alive. You are going to have problems with all those fish. A BP needs a 55 gallon, not a 10 gallon.Mine is thick and about 8 1/2".
 
Probably an albino asian RTC. Only worth like $15, not like $1500 or whatever a SA RTC costs.
 
It's actually been researched that these fish need to be moved to brackish at around 6".
If you wait until summer, your rtc will be stunted if the growth rate is anything like the sa rtc.
 
you should upgrade or rehome the redtail asap. As for the colombian sharks, they are essentially marine fish, as everyone said, whether or not the lfs keep them in fw
