Oh boy, here we go. :D
In my experience, Panthers (And Groupers in general) are fairly peaceful, even when quite large. They are eating machines and are capable of eating things larger than seems possible. I've never seen an overly aggressive Panther. As adults, they do like to have a little space around them and will defend this space but rarely persue a tank mate across a tank to defend their territory. Sorry, I disagree that Panthers will kill their tankmates. Just my .02.
As for size, they get fraking huge. However, they aren't swimmers persay so IMO, a 90 is not out of the question. They tend to lumber rather than "Swim". I think this needs to be taken into account when advising on tank size. Flame away, I can take it.:D
Juv Panthers are really cool; they get ugly as they grow but again, this is just my opinion.
I have little knowledge as to their breeding habits.

I dont think anyone said they would kill there tankmates only conspecifics which they definetely will. And i strongly disagree you can keep a marine fish thats gets over 2 foot in a 90. Thats just wrong.

Um, yea....... okay............

A 2 foot fish would be a hella tight fit in a 90 gallon even if it was by itself. I had a panther grouper for over 5 years and it would more then space the entire aquarium 3-4 times to defend his territory. Just cause it is huge does not mean there lazy or they can not move.

panthers are very peace ful and as long as you keep them well fed then you can keep smaller fish in the tank (not recomended) but do able
also panthers are very peaceful and do not bother any fish in a tank
