I know this is old but hey what can I say I LOVE P. AFER'S:

I've got 2 ones about 18in. and gold spotted his mate is about 17in. and solid black both are VERY VERY aggressive (typical feather backs), at first they ate nothing but feeders now they eat anything meaty: freeze dried krill, tilapia fillets, night crawlers, goldfish, rosy reds, fish scales, etc...... very secretive fish LOVE TO ATTACK SLEEPING TANKMATES in the middle of the night, they seem to make a game out of taking turns biting sleeping fish watching them go crazy, darting around the tank and waiting for them to calm down just to bite again and sit back and laugh, I've had mine for about 2.5yrs. they seem to put on about an inch a year VERY SLOW GROWERS but i've personally seen others up OVER 2ft. mine to ALOT of digging also

Yup,they are very secretive when I had my duo they would hide behind the decoration and peek out.In the morning some of the other fish would have chunks bitten out of them.I have not seen them around in a few years now but I guess thats a good thing because I would be tempted to get one although it probably wouldnt work in any of my tanks.
