I never seen any p, congoensis or any pics in books or internet, just the p afer.

So, is it possible to comm the P. afer for the long term with other fish?

As long as it's a large tank with lots of hiding spots for the P. Afer.

my P. Afers are in a 110g. Cichlid community and have killed WELL over 10 fish over the 3 yrs. I've had them VERY aggressive but they can actually be kept in a community with ENOUGH space and hiding places for them and their tankmates alike

they've killed a couple GOOD sized red devils, a couple plecos the smallest one being about 6-7in., a 10-11in. bowfin, etc...... This is all over a 3 yr. period never had any MASSIVE destructions multiple fish down all at once or anything tho

The two are hard to tell apart,some show up with a mottled pattern and some have just a few spots or no spots at all.There is no big movement behind the keeping of them so they arent brought in very often and when they are one could be the other.They are still my favorite of the knifefish because I like the look of them eventhough thet are nocturnal and secretive fish.In the dark anything is fair game,if they cant consume it they will probably wound it.I havent seen any anywhere for some time now but RehobothAquatics used to have them.
