As stated I have one. Great fish.

Parachanna and channa.

Parachanna have a more primitive labyrinth organ, Sometime in the past the asian snakeheads were separated from the africans and evolved a little further in that area.

I also had Parachanna Obscura and a friend of mine has also breed them he haves a pair .......maybe when i will visit him ill take some pics of them.... The male colors blue when they breed.....

You need to look at in a different way. At the time Africa and Asia did not exist, they would have been part of the same land mass. There was no asian and no african Snakehead just a snakehead.

When there was a separation into africa and asia they evolved in different ways.
As to why the Channa evolved a more advanced labyrinth organ, I have no idea, I would love to know. :)

here is mine

i sink that parachanas are less agressive than chanas .mine is very peaceful.
diferents habitats make animals go diferent ways
