Parachromis friedrichsthali?

I saw one of these in a LFS yesterday. I thought it was a dovii at first, then I saw it labelled as friedrichsthali.

Has anyone kept one of these? fishbase says they only grow to 28 cm.

How are they temperament wise? Would it be possible to keep one with oscars and a jardini do you think?

It was 12 quid and around 5 or 6 inches.

saw a 7-8 inch male in a store here... nice looking fish. But aggressive from what i heard... How true is that i do not know.

But it does grow small tt is true.
 
I have one abt 5-6" in my 100g with a 12" Lima Shovelnose, 9" Sailfin pleco and 3 Clown Loaches. YES it is aggresive , it always takes shots at the catfish and plec. I also had a 12" Oscar in there but I just gave it to my friend for his 125g.
I will be puting two Cichla Ocellaris and a Tiger Shovelnose in that tank as soon as they get too be abt 6" and maybe sell the Lima.
 
These fish are often mislabeled in LFS' in my area for Motaguense. To me, they look like a cross between Motaguense and Managuense.

I have owned them. They do well when you have four or more of them together. They are aggressive.They will team together against other fish.They are GUAPOTES like managuense,salvanis,dovii,cubans,etc.
 
thanks, does anyone else have any experience with them? Are they jag aggressive or dovii aggressive? How mean are we talking? :)

How woudl they do with an oscar, a JD and a red terror?
 
I have kept a male from 2" to around 6". Mine was hardly that aggressive, it does not look for a fight at all, but more of minding its own business.
You could try putting it w/ you oscars, but any very small fish it wont hesitate to eat.
I cant compare its temperament w/ Dovii. Since my dovii are just pure ruthless killers, the other 5" dovii Ive got even attack me non-stop w/ full force.
Friedrichthalli are more of a jaguar attitude, or a mildly aggressive. But Ive also heard some come be killers. Just try it, you might get a mellow one.
