Sent this email to Kevin:

Hello Kevin,
On Sunday I purchased a very nice orange pair of Parachromis loisellei from
you. First of all I think you should know that they are doing very well already
and the male is constantly displaying for the female. I was wondering
however where these fish came from, as they appear to be very similiar to
the loisellei discovered somewhat recently near La Ceiba, Honduras, but
these fish are only avaliable from three sources and none show any orange
coloration. Do you think you could help me out?

Thank you,
Jack
And received this:

Hi Jack,
The person that brouoght them in bought them from Jeff Rapps and he said the were from La Ceiba Honduras--Rio Danto.
That should settle it then :)

Rapps sells the La Ceiba fish, and I certainly trust Kevin.

I believe it is the Parachromis from La Cieba. It's not a Motaguense. According to Dr. Paul Loiselle and Juan Miquel from the Cichlid Room companion...it's not a Loiselle either. Juan and Paul think it's a Honduran variant of Fredrichsthali.

Here's a female Motaguense:

Here's the male Motaguense.

100% certain it's not Motaguense.

You beat me to it cookiemonster ... was there today and found out there was a Rapps order.

Which one, the piebald pair on the left or the solid pair on the right?

Naw, tanks are in storage atm until I find income again ... so it was strickly a purely masocistic torture visit.:screwy::ROFL:

It's difficult but can be done. I have managed it a few times. If I manage it, I can barely walk out of the store becuase I am shaking too much. That and it requires an immediate stop next door to the Irish pub.
