have they spawned yet? I have found that outside of spawning they tend to be very bland but a well taken care of breeding pair is where you get the nut-tastic colors

They look great. It's amazing the color of spawning fish. It's funny how members post pics of the fish in breeding dress and pass it aong as the fishes "common" color......love the attitude of a pair of parachromis. They are some of the best pairs to keep. They seem to be well cared for with a large tank for the two!!!

thanks. the la ceibas are amazing when it comes to their colors. until they spawn their colors stay very bland and almost grey but as soon as they pair up and spawn their colors go nuts and stay very close to this color all the time. parachromis pairs are indeed awesome. very low maintenence with not a lot of aggression between te two. tank size is a 135 and they love it with still some room to grow.
