I always been keepeing fish and i had to down grade now i have a 75 gal with beani pair and im cycling my other 75 gal and i have a delema , should i get a parachromis species, or this rare serrasalmus brandtii, let me know what yall think i should do:nilly:

serrasalmus brandtii is a piranha right? i believe piranha actually do best in schools of 5 or 6 so I would go with Parachromis. A female jag would do fine in a 75, Mota, loiselli or a freddy also would be ok in a 75

You're in the cichlid section, soooo...

I mean your results are probably going to be biased because you are in the cichlid section.

Of the Parachromis species, dovii gets too big. A male managuense will also get too big, but a female would be okay. The others are friedrichstahlii, motaguense, and loiselle. Any of those would be fine, and a breeding pair might work as well.

Actually the Serrasalmus piranha don't do well in groups, atleast not in captivity. They tend to eat each other up. The Pygocentrus type(Red Bellies, Caribe, and Piraya) are the ones that are best kept in groups.. With that said, I'd go with a Parachromis.I don't like the Serras too much though, so I might be biased.. ;-)

definitely a smaller parachromis they have personality and way better coloration

PARACHROMIS..... They win... Always... The best. Loisellei, Friedrichsthalii, Motaguense, sp. "La Ceiba" would all work, but a 75 might be a tad cramped for 2. Parachromis do best with more space because they are active piscivores and so are agile swimmers whom like ample swimming space.

If you were to pick a pair I would do Friedrichsthalii, they are the smallest growing of the bunch I think?
Single male I would go with a sp. "La Ceiba" the nicest and meanest of those in my opinion
