Parachromis question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i'd say go with a loisellie try to get a freddy but it will most likely be a loisellie not sure which of those two is more aggressive it ranges hugely so it comes down to the individual fish you could find a really aggressive fish from both species but with a butti its risky they could hold there own just fine so there could be alot of fights but it could work just make sure you have a tank divider or another tank

If your looking for aggression and color, I would go with a Mota. The mota's i've owned in my experience are much more aggressive then Jags. The female gold in my tank runs it hands down, and this is with a slightly larger flowerhorn, a longer pike and a Male Jag. Before she ran my tank, i had a red tiger mota female that ran it. These are the two most aggressive fish ive ever owned as far as dominance goes. If they feel any fish is trying to take the top spot they will relentlessly attempt to fight it until it changes its mind.

i am not putting anything more in 55 gal . I plan on upgrading get another tank thats why i am asking . i am in search of another tank now as we speak

Mota's are the most agressive(except dovi ) and colorful

i owen 1 female loisellei that is 9 years old she maxed out about 8 1/2 inchs and is alot more docile than most parachromis , my male rtm is about 10 inchs and a friggin pshyco and my two freddys are about 4 inchs still growin and little less aggro but still terratorial.. and my male rtm x gold mota is a 3 1/2 inch glass banger with a bad azz temper.. if you want less aggro and less size get a loisellei or freddy... if you want a killer get a mota

motaguenses ime are more aggressive than the fred's and loiselli's ive kept. They all max around the same size. The motaguense im my avatar was 14'' head to tail when he died so idk where the 12'' max comes from. and he was the wet pet in my 100 gallon
