Loisellei I have a lonely female in with 2 of the other 5 remaining Parachromis sp. I have found the Freddies as well just not sure it will survive in any of my tanks right now. Nice beautiful cichlid can't wait to see future updates.

Ill be doin some updates thats fo sho. Im hoping to get a 90 gallon and build it into the wall.

With the question of what species it is, I know ken has been doing some digging with some of his knowledgeable friends, and I think he says it is more friedrichsthalli. It to me looks like neither but at the same time both, it is definitely a beautiful fish though.

I know this is a ressurection, but I now have quinn's (big_dovii's) la ceiba. It is actually a female btw :P and at one point (before I separated them for reasons they were beating up my other fish) paired up with my male friedricksthalli (the la ceiba hates the female freddy).... so, clearly la ceiba is willing to pair up with freddies.

The La Ceiba fish has more afinnity with fredrichstalli than loiselli, which is in the western part of Honduras, where these come from a very small range on the north coast, Dr. LOISELLE RECENTLY PUT THEM ON THE CARES ENDANGERED SPECIES LIST DUE TO THE ONLY PLACE WE HAVE FOUND THEM SO FAR BEING DESTROYED DUE TO BUILDING OF A HOTEL. I WOULD NOT CROSS THEM WITH OTHER PARACHROMIS. I DO HAVE AN EXTRA ADULT MALE IF SOMEONE NEEDS HIM AS A BREEDER, THEY HAVE TO BE BRED THROUGH A DIVIDER, THEY DO NOT PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS. KEN

I've also fallen in love with these fish. I've got a male from Ken (I think F1, but haven't heard back from him about that yet) and a wild female from Jeff. They spawned over the summer, the juvies are now just over an inch, some a bit bigger, some a bit smaller. And they've spawned again in a 75g. Now mine I haven't had any problems with at all the 2 of them being together. Over the summer they were in a 300g tub outside with other fish and had their first spawn out there. Now they are in a 75g where they spawned again a month or so ago, fry are about 1/4 inch long. The 2 of them are mean as all get out to me or anyone that puts their finger by them, but so far have been really good to their fry and each other.
