What dose of Metranodizole is recommended for Rays? I dose my Cichlids 1,5gram/liter when I see them haveing flagellates <<-- What do you call these parasites?

Trypanosoma, Ichtyobodo necator and Trypanoplasma?!?

Obviously theres different treatments for certain parasites, for instance a treatement used for Protozoa wont generally work on higher end parasites ,eg,intestinal worms (Helminths)theres a treatment for this called Kusuri wormer plus, this treatment also eradicates body and gill flukes too,but best of all it doesnt upset the biological balance of the biological filter, used it on all kinds of delicate fish with no problems...not rays though!! so this needs checking out before hand .
The active ingredient in this treatment are Flubendazole.

flagyl??? full name of this product not sure what you are reffering too

Yep....Flagyl (trade name) = Metranodizole (generic) it is a antibiotic/ antiprotozoa commonly used to treat GI disorders. Comes in tablets and could be easily placed in food.

Do you give prazi pro x1 or do you repeat before transferring to main tank from QT?

I prazi for a week at a 3-4X dose and replace when doing water changes. I then make sure they are eating cut shrimp and scallops before moving them to main tank. All my rays in the main tank eat like hogs so if I add a ray that only eats worms then I am stuck hand feeding until I convert them.

I treat with Prazi for a minimum of one week at 4x dose, followed by 50% water changes once a week for the continuation of the holding of the new rays. Hasn't seemed to cause any issues with any of the rays I've brought in so far.

I've reconsidered my quarantine methods after this last bacterial infection. Even though I didn't quarantine do to lack of tank space my new rays didn't develop any problems until week 3. I'm thinking everyone above is correct but maybe give it a month.
