Ive had my group of 5 or 6 bushynoses for around 2 years now, when I first brought them home I was looking closely at them in the bag and just noting the little differences in color, sex, size, just everything. one female had a extra black dot on her tail, just different I thought- the group has been in a 220g, a 300g, and now a 115g, so I rarely see them- a few months after I got them, the one with the spot now had a bump where the spot was- after an hour or two I finally got her out, and wiped the thing on her tail fin off. it wiped off easy, but she still had the black spot, but I also didnt want to hurt her, so off she went- more time passes, I saw her out in the open, and its taking her over! no other fish have anything at allon them-
could someone let me know what it is and how to get rid of it- thanks

since nobody knows, does this mean Ive stumbled upon a new species?! Do I get to name it? is there fame that goes along with discovering such a creature?! if it turns out to not be of this planet, and turns out to be a space alien, will the name that I give it carry over to mars, or will the name they gave it trump mine?! what if the name they use on uranus is unpronouncable to humans, then would the name I gave it suprcede any newcomers trying to muscle another name on my beast?! if it decides to "phone home" what kind of overage charges can I expect from my carrier?! would emailing his contacts on his home planet even be feasable?! assuming it was do-able, would his people open attachments if they saw it was from the free gmail account that we got for it earlier?!

Looks like a tumor.

If it's still growing, might have to cut it off. Good luck!

maybe but I didnt think so because I sort of wiped it off the first time- and I agree that it might need to be cut off, but Im going to try to avoid that- thanks

That would be my guess.

ok good were all in agreement- when I cut it off, Im taking the section of tail its attached to as well, right? Im not trying to take it off and leave the tail unscathed, because I tried that last time, and the tumor just came back angrier

I've never sedated a pleco before. I wonder if clove oil or Finquel MS-222 will work the same way to plecos as it did with goldfish in my experience. You need to sedate the fish if you want to remove the tumor to avoid it being stressed further.
