Have you tested your water?
No
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes
If I do not change my water...

I got this new piece of driftwood on display in a tank with fish at an aquarium shop. It was perfect for 3 days until white things attached to the wood became visible. Is is possible to scrub off with a brush with hard bristles, but will keep on coming back.
Is it parasites?

Welcome aboard
I've personally use wood branches from my backyard and I soak in boiled water. After a few days I noticed white grayish looking fungus starts growing and after a few water changes it goes away.
I'm baffled about your driftwood though. Is your aquarium just being setup? If so that's probably the live bacteria dying off.
