Jason, the parents were IMO questionable. Wild stock in AU is pretty scarce due to strict import regulations on most fish. Once cichlids get into the pet trade, damn near anything is possible. These fish could have originated in Thailand for all anyone knows. Cool fish, just sayin .....

Agreed. I would have bet a steak dinner that there was a thread that had good pictures of the Aussie adults, but I can't seem to track it down.

Finally got some decent pics of these guys- sure seem to get along well (as opposed to with there tankmates lol)
I saw those Piebald fene in BFD. They are not ordinary Peibald, but looks like domesticated mutant with half white and black pattern. I kept natural piebald fene before, and they started out with mosaic pink and black pattern, and then gradually peeled off the black and turned nearly all white. Here are pics of my former matured and juvenile piebald fene. The natural piebald fene is more commonly available than the blue fene in the trade.
