Cichlasoman, I have one other question I wanted to ask you. I have had a few people in the past couple days tell me that the fish in the picture I posted is in spawning colors. Is that true? Only one other fish is showing these colors right now and it is defending a cave in the back of the tank. But the big one (the one in the last picture) does not show any interest in the defending fish. Although it does tolerate the big one around the cave a little.

It does certainly seem that the picture you posted is one of a fish with reproduction in mind, sort-of at least!!! I can tell you that the fish is the dominant one..it does not mean that it is ready to spawn but that it is deffending his territory, hopefully with time he will find a mate. Just readung your post, I get the impression that you have a willing pair. Good luck with that.
