at should be ate in the first sentance. For some reason I am unable to edit this. guess it was moved or something. But when the big paroon ate the black ear he was gone lol.

Very nice!! Can you tell me more about your P. Laraudii? I ask because I have had mine for almost a month now and the habits seem a little different. Can't find detailed stuff on the net, so maybe you can tell me about yours :)

Pangasius larnaudii or black ear iridescent is probably my new favorite fish. It used to be paroon sharks but I find that when the black ears get up to about 8 inches they are just as agressive eaters as the paroons. I feed mine tilipia fillets and theres never any left over. His belly gets so fat. They def seem to grow slower then the paroons. I've had mine for about 4 or 5 years now and he went from maybe an inch long to about 12-14 inches that he is now. He started off in a 125gallion but I moved him into the little 300g pond when he got little bigger. Think the thing i really like about them is how active they are. They swim laps around my paroons and mine is starting to get the same trails on his fins that the paroons get. Just a neat active fish that can get pretty good size. Also what specific habbits were you refering to? :)

So would a 1,200 gallon pond with an RTC & one koi be ok to raise one?
Ive seen your pond threads and a paroon would eat every thing you have in there, in a short amount of time too.

dang when were you selling your paroon( i would of loved to have that with my 25in)

I would be willing to let go of my other paroon if your interested. Want to make room for some other black ears.

The paroon is ballpark 24ish inch. The back-ear around 13-15in. I'm going to try to get some pics. I'll have to head into town and get a plastic yardstick and try to get a non-fail camera.

I've had them almost 4 years. They were tiny when I got them. Maybe 2 full inches. They grow so fast. (the black-ear grows much slower)
