Paroon shark Tank mates???

getting two 6" paroons next week i have a 150g tank,empty right now was wondering what else i could put in with the paroons? some peacock bass, and a shovelnose or redtail cat, cichlids?

i found a great deal on a 12" shovlenose but i dnt know how well it would work out with the 2 paroons being smaller

Remember that 150 is just another step in the grow out process.

if the other fish with the exception of the shovel nose and the RTC are way bigger than the paroon, go for it! about the other catfish... well you could try... the paroon has a wide mouth and swallows things bigger than it... it could end both ways...

Did you get them? Id definitaly go for the deal on the shovel nose! the paroons will reach that size in a couple days anyway lol but their crazy fast growers.

The paroons grow fast... so do the shovelnose... they most likely won't kill eachother though...

They probly will be fine but parrons like to swim and that short of a tank might be a problem once they hit about 10" which from about 5 inches i say will take 2 or 3 months maybe.......... these fish need longer tanks than wide tanks cuz of there activity level of proon sharks......

i would guess the shovelnose would go after the paroons, thats just my guess though. peacock bass would be cool.

They very well might, in my experience. Some cats are more docile than others, but, generally, if they can find a way to stuff them into their mouths they will...even if that means swimming around with only 2/3's of it swallowed for the next day.
