  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Some might call them imperials, but my imperials are pangasius pangasius, and the ids are pangasius hypothalamus.

I have severe paroon envy, and will likely never see one locally. For now I'll just have to live with my IDs, and imperials. Paroon would definitely round out the collection though lol.

hi have u ever done ur thing with the bones 2 a paroon if so would luv 2 see pics:headbang2

local seller has offered me giant mekong catfish/P gigas about USD 40 for two speciments with 20 cm length. I wonder where the hell he get it since it is listed in appendix 1. How come those speciments can go out of Thailand :screwy:....But I have agreed with the price and will be delivered to my pond within 5 days....:headbang2

No worry man.......even in thailand they are trading products either for food purpose, fishing or other purposes same as asian aros here or julien's barb:)

I think giant mekong is something common in Thailand for fishing industries while julien barb/temoleh is something common in borneo for food purpose

Julien has been breed in Malaysia and considering that mekong is important fish for fishing industries I believe it has been breed. Julien is threatened in its original ecosystem due to polution ect but not threatened in ex situ (breeder). Same case apply for Asian aro. Threatened in its original ecosystem but can be found anywhere here since has been breed for ornamental fish industry

Peace.....

Never done a paroon skeleton, but would love to eventually. I actually really want to do a rtc x tsn hybrid, but hope my big boy lives to be well over 20 years old, so might take a while unless someone else has one. Here here! anyone who's paroon parts ways with the mortal world send it to me! Or any large fish for that matter lol. Going to be working on my old jau soon! I'll keep you guys updated in the catfish anatomy thread.

mekong would be cool, but couldn't keep one knowing their status.

ANYONE know the growth rate of paroons??? ie. mine is about 24'' eats massivores and other pellets everyday....how long will it take for him to reach 36''
